12/15/2023 – 2024 Registration Is Open!

Registration is now open for our 2024A Series! The first day of the series will be Monday, January 8th and the final day will be Saturday, February 17th. All program information is above and an FAQ section is below. If you have any questions regarding the program or registration, reach out to Tatiana directly to ask!

12/13/2023 – Pre-Freeskate Through Freeskate 6 changes made by US Figure Skating & Learn To Skate USA.

NEW: Aspire Levels New Aspire levels will be implemented on January 1, 2024. The new Singles Aspire 1-4 levels are replacing Pre Free Skate, Free Skate 1-6, Excel Beginner Free Skate, and Excel High Beginner Free Skate, while Aspire 1-4 compulsory events are replacing Pre Free Skate, Free Skate 1-6, Beginner and High Beginner compulsory events.” – US Figure Skating Program

What this essentially means is that moving forward, in COMPETITION they will be streamlining all levels to form into 4 single levels to make competitions more efficient and more skaters PER level since it is very unique currently with level placement. How this currently affects you is that starting for our 2024A Learn To Skate series, pre-freeskate through freeskate 6 will now be categorized as Aspire Low and Aspire High.

This is how you will need to approach registration and what classes will be on what day:

Registration – The levels are open above, hit the “Register For Learn To Skate USA” button and there will be 2 options. Aspire Low (Formerly Pre-Freeskate through Freeskate 2) and Aspire High (Formerly Freeskate 3 through Freeskate 6). If your child is in or going into Pre-Freeskate  they are classified as Aspire 1 (Aspire Low), Freeskate 1 -2 is Aspire 2 (Aspire Low), Freeskate 3-4 is Aspire 3 (Aspire High) and Freeskate 5-6 is Aspire 4 (Aspire High). You will register them accordingly to their current skill level and try to follow the former order of classes to identify where your child needs to go under this new format we have to adapt.

Offered Day(s) – A big issue we have been having in the past few months is ensuring all students are getting the proper instruction, proper ice space and being trained by the proper coaches for these levels, we are confident that this “blessing in disguise” will really help correct these errors. To make sure of that, we are splitting the classes so we are not sharing 8 levels to one ice space as we only have so much ice to work with * for now 🙂 *. The schedule will proceed as follows:

Monday (5:30 PM to 6:00 PM) – Aspire Low ONLY

Wednesday (5:30 PM to 6:00 PM) – Aspire High ONLY

Saturday (10:00 AM to 10:30 AM) – All Aspire levels On-Ice.

This is a lot of information, and we want to make sure it does not confuse you! Please reach out to Tatiana so we can assist in anyway possible! See you in January :)!

Skaters will learn a curriculum according to their level during the first three weeks. During week 4, skaters will be given a mid-term evaluation report to check in with their progress. Week seven is final evaluations and passing skaters will receive awards and certificates. Skaters must master the curriculum (scoring 8/10 or better on final evaluation report) to move onto the next level.

  • Snowplow Sam 1-4 (ages 3-5)
  • Basic 1-6 (ages 6-15)
  • Hockey 1-4 (ages 4-15)
  • Aspire 1-4 (Low & High) [Basic 6 Pre-Requisite]
  • Adult 1-6 (ages 16 & Up)
  • Adult Hockey 1-4 [Adult 1 Pre-Requisite]

See Class Registration below

Online registration for an upcoming series will open on the 3rd week of the current series and will close the Saturday before the new series begins. On the following Monday, registration will re-open for 2 weeks, however, a late fee of $20 will be charged. For more details or specific registration dates, please visit our website.

*Skaters are encouraged to register before the upcoming series begins to avoid the late fee.

Please refer to the curriculum. In order to be in a level, the skater needs to be able to perform every element from the previous level’s curriculum.

*Age doesn’t determine level; skills and ability to perform elements do.

Skaters are able to request a private evaluation during the first 2 weeks of series, by contacting the Learn To Skate Director, Tatiana Kozmava. Then, a coaching staff will evaluate the skater in a 20-min private lesson and determine whether they are ready to move up or not.

The skater will need to pay the coach for a 20 min private lesson. Rates vary depending on the coach but are usually between $22-$30 for 20 min.

*Skaters can request a coach when inquiring for a private evaluation.

Skaters can make-up classes by coming in on any of the other days their level is offered. Tell your instructor when you arrive which class you’re making up.

Series go over a 7-week period with a week break in between.

Skaters are encouraged to register for the following series and continue their skating journey.

See Learn to Skate Year at a Glance schedule below

Skaters will need to check in with the front desk. This is the only way skaters will be able to use the included public sessions as part of Learn to Skate.

*Reminder Standard Packages get 7 public sessions, and any Olympic Packages get 14 public sessions throughout the series. Public sessions are only valid for the duration of its series.

If a skater is not on the roster according to the front desk, they will have to pay for admission.

When a skater purchases a Silver or Gold Package, they will get assigned a coach. The coach will contact the skater and schedule the lessons with you. If you have a preference, please inform the Learn to Skate Director, Tatiana Kozmava.

*Reminder Silver Packages get 4 (15 min) private lessons, and Gold Packages get 8 (15 min) private lessons throughout the series.

Skaters are expected to arrive 30 min before class starts on the first week, to check-in, become familiar with their instructor and meeting location, and receive any skater resources.

After the first week, skaters are encouraged to arrive 15 min before class.

*Remember, if you need rental skates, please arrive at early enough to get your skates and get dressed in time to get on the ice by your scheduled start-time.

There will be a Learn to Skate table set up with class information, including your instructor and meeting location. Your instructor will take roll at the beginning of class to check you in.
